In 2019, workplace inequality still exists. It has very real consequences for people all over the world -- consequences that often go unseen, unheard and invalidated. #NothingLess provides a platform for women and minorities in tech to tell their stories, unite over shared experiences of inequity, and demand nothing less than what they’re worth.
On 3rd December, Hired is partnering with She Wins to host a special salary negotiation workshop for underrepresented tech workers. We’ll help you understand the fundamental principles of negotiation and develop your own strategies for negotiating authentically and confidently.
You'll Learn:
- The key principles of negotiation
- How to effectively prepare and practise
- How to gain leverage and deal with difficult situations
Meet your peers and make new friends in London’s tech community! We’ll enjoy networking, food and drinks before and after our interactive workshop session. We'll also have an area setup if you'd like a new professional headshot taken.
Child Care Services: Need childcare? No problem! We'll have an area run by CRB certified volunteers to look after children during the workshop session. All ages are welcome! Please indicate your interest when you RSVP.
Workshop capacity is limited. Questions? Email sally@hired.com
Kate started her career as a head of HR growing the team from 6 to 150 people all whilst studying at university in Prague. After building products in Berlin and San Francisco, she moved to London where she co-founded 87%, a mental wellbeing solution for corporates. Needing to negotiate for her value with her co-founder constantly for 2 years, she decided to research the topic more in depth and discovered correlation between gender pay gap and social backlash women face when negotiating for what they deserve. While interviewing women about their experiences she met Clare and they decided to start She Wins to empower both women and businesses to engage in fair and successful negotiations.
Clare likes to solve social problems using design and technology. Previously she trained as a designer and taught herself to code whilst working in advertising. In 2012 Clare co-founded and built Code Club, a not for profit network of 14,000+ volunteer-led after school coding clubs in 160 countries teaching 200,000 children a week how to code. Clare’s also Chair of Trustees at Beam.org, supporting homeless people through training and into stable, paid work.
